I am a supervisor for Ceccanti construction and have recently started a project that was going to need a concrete slab poured for the entire building floor of an elementary school. We as a sub-contractor do all the grading work to get ready for concrete or asphalt this particular scope of grading can be quite challenging due to the mass amount of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical piping, etc. After the sub-grade work was established the plumbers, and electricians, come in and do all there pipe work, once they are complete we are contracted to put in capillary break, which is a type of rock that is free draining, this particular job has specified 5/8 clean, crushed rock, the problem being, how are we going to get our every day heavy equipment in this 30,000 sq ft area, full of pipes standing, and laying on top of the ground, not to mention concrete and rebar that is poured previously as interior footings. IMPOSSIBLE. This is when we park our heavy equipment and call the ROCKSLINGER. The rockslinger came out to our job and did about 10,000sq ft in 6hrs slinging our rock to grade very efficiently,and consistent, as the grade checker and rake man had it easy those days.
